SL15B Quatre

Back on Left Stage again.  No, Luscious was not there, so I couldn’t blast her ears with Carly Rae Jepsen.

I do find that the hour long sets are not enough, and two hours are a good length for djing. Three is a bit much and four or more – especially in a row – are insane.

Lisa Lougheed – Run With Us
Molson Canadian – Molson Canadian Anthem
Bryan Adams – Can’t Stop This Thing We Started
Susan Aglukark – Hina Na Ho (Celebration)
Vancouver Children’s Choir – This Is My Home

This song… “This Is My Home” brought tears to my eyes when I previewed it.  I found a version that is good enough to add to my collection of Canadiana. It isn’t the one that was at Expo 86.  I love my country so much that “This Is My Home” makes me so happy to be here, I cry tears of joy when I hear “this is my home, oh Canada.”

Les Stroud – I Am Canadian
Simple Plan – Jet Lag
Arrogant Worms – Log In to You
Bruno Mars – Marry You

Bruno Mars was a request and he’s not Canadian.

Stompin’ Tom Connors – The Hockey Song
Marianas Trench – Pop 101 ft. Anami Vice
Len – Steal My Sunshine
Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You
Queen – Who Wants To Live Forever

Another request.  Queen is 100% Not Canadian.

KD Lang – Hallelujah
Justin Bieber – Sorry
Celine Dion – Ashes
Alanis Morissette – Ironic
Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie – The War of 1812
Tim Hicks – Stronger Beer (beeped)
Moxy Fruvous – King of Spain
The Arrogant Worms – Me Like Hockey
Jann Arden – Could I Be Your Girl
Buffy St. Marie – My Heart Soars
Gowan – You’re a Strange Animal
The Guess Who – American Woman
Marianas Trench – Who Do You Love (Clean)
Michelle Wright – Nobody’s Girl

Right about here, Murphy really decided to make me grumpy and a song jumped.  I was trying to help a slightly panicked stage crew have a little extra time setting up the guy after me, and instead of it being the next song, “We Should Be Friends” jumped in after kicking “Nobody’s Girl” out of play.

Josh Ramsay – We Should Be Friends
Celine Dion – Pour que tu m’aimes encore
Bedouin Soundclash – When the Night Feels My SongSnapshot9_130.png

This makes my 6th set I’ve done there.

No, I’m not taking photos of the crowds.  They are simply too big and pushing my computer as it is.  I’m going to have to reboot before I log into SL for 4pm SLT (4pm PST) for my sets tomorrow.

Today, however, I did a second set at Austin.  I miss my friends there, the O-girls.  I used to dj there every Friday for over a year, but the parties got to be too much for me.  Up to 4 hrs of djing every Friday without my partner helping me? Nope.  I miss those events, but not the so-called partner who was far too much of a flake.  I’m looking at you, Domlypanties.

The theme today?  Solstice and Stonehenge.  This is the second or third outfit I tried on for Spitfire, and she appoved it.  Since she couldn’t be there, I wanted to give her some small choice over what I did.  I swear my avi looks like she has a permanent pout.

Tomorrow, Boudiccea.  I think I’m moving from Wednesdays to Fridays. I’m not sure how much I’m enjoying DJing at Boudiccea.  Two sets do not a decision make.  Nellie’s awesome, but there’s something else there that is bugging me and I’m trying to figure out what it is.

Then, after Boudiccea, I get to dj for a dance troupe.  I was thinking of being on stage with them, but no.  I should go stand somewhere in the audience, in something elegant and formal.  Since Boudiccea needs me to wear something formal anyway, I’ll figure something out.  I could wear the long skirt the troupe is not wearing, and still stand there in the audience.  The point of the event is them, not me.  I have the easy job.  Them? Not so much.

Woah…

6 sets at SL15B main stages – Cake, North, Crystal Rotunda, and Snake.  8 hours there this week, and I could have done more.  At least two invites back for next year, one from the crew lead, several from the crew members themselves.  Several stage crew calling me “pro” and more.

I have to thank all of the stage crews.  They were awesome, friendly, gave little pep talks when I needed them, made sure everything was right, got me where I needed to be on time and ready to go, and kept me feeling safe, comfortable, and happy playing.  I am so glad for the crew that made all this happen.  Without them, I don’t think this would have run as smooth.

Moving forward, ever one step in front of the other.  I have one dedicated fan.  Her name is Spitfire.  I have others that love my music and want to come to my sets.  Everyone else who loves my music?  Ya’ll are the icing and sprinkles on the cake that Spitfire bakes to keep me going and DJing.  Every single one of you keep me going, especially when I hear that you’ve had an eargasm over something I played.  If you want to join my fan group that Spitfire and I share, click on “Mooncheeks Music” in Second Life.

Where I was, back when I left this one guy’s sim at a run almost four years ago, to now, I’ve grown so much, I never want to look back.
