SL20B – Crew Party

A new playlist was worked on. Patch Linden announced that the SL20B exhibits would stay open for another week or so, which made people cheer. I spent most of the week engaged in acts of chaos, all while dealing with a bad tooth. I had had a root canal late June and it was failing. I got it crowned in between my last set at SL20B and the crew party.

The crown failed, but I wouldn’t know about it until the Tuesday after the crew party.

I was focused on what I had to do. Originally, I was set up to be the closing DJ, with the fireworks after me, but polling the crews, it was decided to make it longer. There would be two other performers after me.

I got asked at the last moment possible to dj for a birthday party. It was set for 11 am on the same day as the crew party, but only for an hour.

I came early. I partied hard. I left people happy, especially the birthday boy. Thank you, Dagny for thinking of me.

I was at the entire crew party. I sat back in the big chair and basically enjoyed the music. At one point, there was an arial artist and I tried to do it too, but I was in my lart or snowcat avatar. The animations did bad things to my poor little avatar, so I went and hung out with the gryphons.

Then… 15 minutes before the start of the performer before me, one of the stage crew gets into my inbox. “Can you go live at the top of the hour? The performer is sick and can’t make it.”

I didn’t say no.

Technical difficulties meant I started two minutes after the hour. There was one mistake I made, and one the stage crew made and I don’t blame either of us for fragging up. I was live. I was there. I was RAWKING!

What absolutely blew my mind was that not only did I get 2 hours there at the crew party bringing my total time DJing at SL20B is 6 sets and 8 hrs, but that I was the preshow for the SL symphony with live musicians. I have no clue how they pulled that off but that was awesome to be a part of it!

The irony? I have no pictures of me at SL20B crew party that I can find. Yah, I took a tiny clock app vid of it while doing it, but no pictures. At least, none I can find.
