The Pyre and En’Kara Content Wars

On March 15th, we had the pyre for Black Ort online. It was emotional. There, io Cloud threw herself on the pyre and I rerolled as their daughter Moon. Real life caused issues and the ceremony couldn’t go as planned cause key people couldn’t get there.

I have my original DJ name back. DJ Moon Cheeks. Second Life had the last name “Cheeks” up for name changes and I decided it was too good to not pass up.

So now, Moon, daughter of Black and io, runs Serendipity Falls.

Yah… yah.. ai art… Except the art comes from original pictures I took.

Anyway…

En’Kara

First off, I was the voice of the Ko-ro-ba sword tournament.

I also had the immense pleasure of being the broadcaster that got the four greats of Gor on the air together: Fidelio, Fogaban, Darklord, and Gorm.

Did they really expect me to not reply to their notecard asking for comments about this year’s En’Kara fair?

What I am about to type is my own opinions, and I stand behind them.

En’Kara Fair 2026

We hope you enjoyed your time at the fair! But we want to hear your feed back on how we did. Please read the questions below and leave us your comment. We want to improve and make things better for our Gorean Community.

: What did we get right?

I honestly am not certain what went right. I know a lot went wrong.

: What did we get wrong?

Lots. Do you have time to read this notecard or are you going to toss it on a fire because it’s too long and written by an “emotional female?”

From before the fair started during the build, finding out that my promo picture, one that I had retired, was being used on the memorial urns at the Enkara memorial without permission was beyond shocking. Then when called out, not only were my words deleted in the discord, but no apology was offered, and Paradox Nova tapped danced around what happened to blame the builder that contacted me to let me know what was going on.

Later on, during the road to the fair, Paradox admitted to using copybots and screenshots to get what they wanted in order to create things for the fair. They showed no concern for copyright, Terms of Service violations, nor a desire to apologize for outright content theft that could have shut the fair down, possibly permanently, and the loss of their avatar and more. This could still happen.

The utter and complete irony about it? If Paradox had asked, I am certain the builders would have provided the textures at no charge. Instead, Paradox’s arrogance, uncaring attitude, and lack of true accountability and no desire to provide absolution for the infractions done to others I know if I had been asked, I would have provide an “oil painting” picture for Paradox’s use, and anything else they needed.

People who did speak up against Paradox stopped for fear of loosing their tent space at Enkara.

That was just the textures. I am very concerned about other potentially stolen content and the ramifications to Gor! Finding out that key people were removed from their roles because they disagreed with Paradox’s management and build styles is also of great concern.

Paradox’s rude comment in the slave finder group about the “3 hour roleplay” about Black Ort’s pyre. Except no place was provide for at Enkara to do it. So I had to have a builder build real quick and provide a pyre with a temple type structure at Serendipity Falls. It would have been better at the fair, if a place had been provided for, IF someone had asked where and what I wanted.

Paradox does not seem to understand that those 3 hours on the air were always MY three hours to do with as I pleased. Her theft from my profile, which I found out about later, and the deletion of my comments cost the fair that roundtable. I was not going to put my energy to running it at the fair with the amount of disrespect I was shown before the fair even started! I could have done anything for those three hours, and again the next Sunday. Instead, I am stepping down and going to be in real life with friends and have time away from Second Life. Those “three hours of roleplay” were not “three hours of roleplay.” They were three hours of whatever I wanted to do with those three hours, Enkara be damned.

I was asked to do Black Ort’s pyre at Enkara by the staff of the Gorean University, yet there was no place to do it at Enkara.

Then there’s the stream issues. I have had several djs get into my inbox about how they were cut off, or the stream wasn’t set to the one they were supposed to use, or other issues. The radio station’s tents should have been parceled out so that their streams would have always been heard at their areas and their broadcasters could have come and done their sets as they pleased. Instead, the sims had their streams changed at random and upset broadcasters and DJs unable to perform.

One of the DJs who was asked to perform is still quite livid when they found out that the place they were supposed to perform at was using a different stream and that it could not be changed for a contest where only 7 people attended. He would have brought up to 40 people for his one event!

Even I got cut off during my last song at the Koroba tournament before it finished. I would have told William that I was clear, and I was going to be off the air over a half hour before the concert anyway because I was booked somewhere else on Second Life! Nope. I got off at 18:20. (6:20pm) when my last song still was playing. The concert didn’t even start until 19:00!! (7pm!!!)

Then there’s Black Ort’s ceremonial cart and the banners. Demanding that the builder remove it immediately because the pyre had happened was insult to injury. The wagon could have stayed, and maybe the casket removed. The banners should have stayed. That was the last slap that made me not want to do anything at all for Enkara! If it wasn’t for Mews asking me personally to be the commentator and DJ for the Koroba sword competition, there might not have been a commentator at all!

I went above and beyond for Enkara even with all the insults slapped in my face over the weeks prior and during Enkara. I kept my mouth shut when I wanted to set people straight about what has been done because I had a job to do and did that job instead of opening my mouth to correct those who were misinformed about the disrespect behind the scenes. Yet all I got was insult after insult for doing the best for Enkara even if it cost me my dignity.

:How can we improve everyone’s experience next year?

Don’t run Enkara. Let another group try. Do not let Paradox anywhere near anything about running any future events, especially with their lack of care over content theft they either did or had minions do for them!

: What should we keep doing?

Anything but Enkara.

: Do you have a talent or skill you would like to offer the fair in 2027?

I have a few ideas for the next Enkara. I will keep those ideas to myself for now.

This letter will be shared on my blog because I refused to be silenced any more.

Moon Cheeks,
Ubara Serendipity Falls
Gorean University Tatrix

In truth, I’ve been asked to be the Ceremonial Ubara for next year’s En’kara by one group who have been taking plenty of notes about this year’s En’kara. They plan on fixing all the mistakes, and so much more. I’m honoured that I was asked. I’ve also been given the one task of keeping the streams straight. That’s gonna be… fun.
