Putting your body together…

I should have done this back when it was easier with a mesh head that used system layers, but, by gosh, I am going to do it with an Evox capable head. I won’t go into all the fun things that makes an Evox head skin different to a system skin. It works. More information on the Lelutka Evox can be found here but it isn’t the only head maker on the Second Life marketplace that is Evox capable.

The queen in her throne

The image above is how I want my avatar to look. At least the face and hair. I’ll pick something else for clothing. So, starting with a ruthed, or bare avatar, let’s work up to smexy. I’m at a friend’s G&S farm and laughing our arses off as I do this.

All the censored bits.

Isn’t she lovely? Look at her, all naked there. I believe the skin is from 7 deadly s(k)ins from about 2020 or earlier. It doesn’t really matter. First things first. A Maitreya hud with the Maitreya 5.3.

Maitreya on board

Now that I have the Maitreya body on, I’ve made sure the Bakes On Mesh button on the skin tab has been pressed. If I need to, I will add which buttons on which tabs to use. The skin is good enough that the toes and fingers aren’t mutated, but it isn’t the skin I want to use. Why? Look at what happens when I put on an Evox capable head. I added the main hud, the head, eyes, ears, and teeth. The hud already has the eyebrows and eyelashes set, as well as some makeup and lipstick.

It's A Monster!

Yes, I have a monster face at the moment. The ears are grey. AHHHH!!!! Why is my mouth on my forehead? That’s how the Evox head works. It uses a different image map for face skin.

Time to switch the body skin to a Velour skin. They have a hunt as of this post and it was fun to run around and grab the 22 items. 4 of them were head skins, There was makeup and shoes and dresses too. The Velour skin I picked is “Praline” from the Venus line. I’ll put on the ear skins too because grey ears are bad ears. That’s a funky tattoo layer.

Look at the detail from the skin. I used the “athletic” option because I could.

For the face, I am going to use Moth and Moon. I could use the one I got from the Velour hunt, but I saw the Moth and Moon head and loved the detail.

Yes. Putting my avi together. Hairbase and face tattoos next with some eyeshine.

I made the main tattoo based off of another creator’s tattoo. They left SL, or switched names or something. The point is that the skin they had with similar markings is not for Evox. I was really sad when I had to retire that skin, but I wanted to keep the marks, so I made my own tattoo based on what they had made. Bunny blush from a hunt back in the spring. Lipstick from the SL20B Shop and Hop. Hair from Wings. Voila! Now for clothes and my Animation Overrider.

It’s not that hard to put together an avatar. The devil is in the details. There’s something about the moment someone with a brand new baked on mesh body and head hits the BOM buttons and suddenly their monster looks smashing and perfect to RP with.

Dressed and AO’ed

For Burn2 on the weekend, I plan on wearing a paler skin cause I found this face paint that I wanted to wear. Also from Moth and Moon, but the base skin is from Heaux.

Have a great week. I’ll blog about the SL20B crew party later. I have a broken tooth that needs to be pulled on an emergency basis and it sucks because the took broke days after getting a crown on it.. I’m in a lot of pain and with luck, it will be removed tomorrow.
